Rockway-Lelend Bldg - 119 Washington Street SE, Olympia, WA 98501

The Rockway-Leland building, located in the heart of downtown Olympia near the Olympia Transit Center, is a textbook example of Modernist design. Built in 1941 by the influential architect Joseph Henry Wohleb, whose career spanned nearly 50 years. Wohleb carved out one of the most productive and influential architectural careers in the history of Washington State. His design of the Rockway-Lelend Building was and still is considered an important contribution to the Art Deco style.
