The Jerome Building

The property is improved with a two-story office building containing 22,981 square feet. The building is constructed of concrete block with stucco. The roof over the main one story portion of the building is rolled asphalt with asphalt shingles over the two-story portion of the building. The main roof was replaced in approximately 1988 and second story roof was replaced in 1990. The original structure was constructed in the 1960's with the recent renovation being completed in 1988, 1997, 2002, 2004, 2006 and 2007. The elevator and the elevator lobby were added in 2007. The site includes 49 on site parking spaces for the convenience of the tenants and their clients.
The Jerome Building is a converted lumberyard constructed in 1960. The southern portion of the original structure was the retail area of the building. The rear portion of the first floor was used as the lumber warehouse and the upstairs was the company's executive offices. In the last 1970's the building was purchased by some investors from the Jerome's and converted to offices for the County. During the 1980's the entire building was utilized from government offices. In the late 1990's after the County decided to purchase their own facilities, the building was renovated and converted into smaller office for engineering firms, law offices and general office purposes. Today, although the original structure is intact; the interior spaces have been totally converted to modern efficient offices. An elevator and lobby was added to the building to improve access to the second floor.
The building layout provides flexibility for tenants with spaces that range from just under 600 square feet executive suites to spaces that can accommodate tenants who need over 10,000 square feet. The building was one of the first buildings that was fully sprinklered in downtown Fort Myers. All of the restrooms are color coordinated with tile floors and walls.
