The building began as a wooden structure in the 1890s, It was torn down around 1904 and replaced with a two-story stone 3000 sq ft building around 1914. Around 1924 it was expanded to its current size of 21,450 (per KCAD). The first and second floors are 7.500 feet each and are open spaces, the mezzanine is 1,566 feet all three are designed as retail open spaces.
