Property Details
Originally built in 1879, the Victorian Gothic "Historic Bishop’s House" was designed for Archbishop William Hickley Gross. At the time, the building contained a church library as well as the Archbishop’s living quarters. The location at SW 3rd and Stark Street was chosen due to its proximity to the neighboring Catholic Cathedral which no longer exists today. The main room of the building – located on the 3rd floor – is approximately 24’ by 24’ feet with ornate 17’ ceilings, and has large chimney pieces on the east and west walls.
