The SouthBridge business center is ideally located in the important business center of Birmingham. The financial district is close and it's conveniently located for downtown. The business center itself is in a modern building offering treetop views. Birmingham's long-established manufacturing industry continues to have a strong presence, and coal mining remains big business, but banking, telecommunications, transportation, electrical power, medical care and insurance have increased in importance. The city is a railroad freight hub and a base for the trucking industry. As well as local firms surrounding the center, hotels are within walking distance, as are restaurants in the new SOHO development. Nearby is the Red Mountain Expressway.
