The Jack Flash Car Washes are owned by a real estate investor, not a car wash operator. Many of our excess land inventory lots have automatic car washes on them, and we are liquidating all inventory of excess land holdings. The car wash machines were put onto our excess inventory lots as a way to generate some income to pay taxes and carry the land. You will notice that these washes are like vending machines in that there are no profit centers other than the actual wash (there is no vacuum, no vending, no hand wash, no sales, no employees, etc.). They were designed for comfort and security; the customer simply drives up, puts in the money, and never gets out of his or her car. While the car wash market for hand washes and other facets of the industry are doing well, the market for these high-end specialty washes has waned. These car washes need some new energy and creative thinking; they could be expanded on greatly, and therein lies an opportunity for the creative mind.
